Umbrella Rebranding Q&A

1. Business Questions

What is Umbrella?

Umbrella is a new business unit within Anodot and dedicated FinOps platform providing a full-coverage for Cloud Financial Management.

Why is Anodot launching Umbrella?

The FinOps market is evolving rapidly, and businesses need more advanced, AI-powered solutions to control cloud spending.

How does Umbrella differ from Anodot’s existing cloud cost management solutions?

Umbrella enhances Anodot’s FinOps offerings with automated workflows, GreenOps Dashboard, and improved integrations.

What changes will there be to the business?

Our FinOps product will now be branded as Umbrella, separating it from our Anomaly Detection line of business. This will ensure full focus and resources to developing, evolving and supporting our FinOps solution.

What changes will I notice?

You will see that our emails will come from the new umbrellacost.com domain instead of anodot.com. More importantly, we've added more resources to our internal teams to provide greater support during the transition and going forward.

2. Product Questions

Do I need to migrate to the new platform

No, Umbrella is an enhancement of Anodot’s cloud cost management services. There will be no change to your data.

Will I need training on how to use the Umbrella platform?

No. The UI will have a refreshed look, but you will still use the new platform just as you did Anodot's cloud cost management features.

When can I access Umbrella?

The platform is live as of Wednesday, April 2nd.

How do I log into Umbrella? Do I need new credentials?

You’ll access the platform via the new Umbrella platform URL: www.umbrellacost.io
To log in, use the same login procedure you did for Anodot; regardless of whether you are a direct customer or a reseller's customer, click the Login button and enter your current login credentials: username & password, SSO. Be sure to bookmark the page. NOTE: Customers who will try to use our old domain (mypileus.io) will be redirected to our new domain (umbrellacost.io).

Do I need to make any changes with regard to SSO?

As mentioned above, no changes will be needed from your side. We are doing the redirects automatically. The certificates are shared certificates for the two domains, so it's not gonna create an issue during the redirect. It is recommended that you eventually change your application name and URL so that it will point to the Umbrella domain.

Will there be an API change?

The API will remain untouched. We will deprecate api.mypileus.io for the next six months. After six months, we'll send out a notification that we will deactivate it. However, we recommend that all customers move to api.umbrellacost.io before then.

With regard to rebilling, will the roles and configuration stay as is?

Yes, they'll stay the same. As we mentioned, there will be no changes to your data or the users and roles. You can be confident that the system will continue functioning exactly as it has been. Only the visuals from Anodot to Umbrella will change.

3. Operational Questions

Are there changes to pricing, contracts, or SLAs?

No fundamental changes. Customer contracts will remain as they are, with only branding adjustments for Umbrella.

How do I communicate with Umbrella?

There is no change to how you communicate with us via email, Slack, or by submitting tickets through the Customer Portal.

What if I need help with the transition?

If you have any issues with this or need help, simply reach out to Customer Success, and we'll assist you.

Will there be changes to the support process?

No changes to how you access and use support, although we have added additional resources to ensure a smooth transition.

Will you remind me of upcoming deadlines?

Yes! The upcoming newsletter will have reminders of the important dates. Additionally, CS will also send you reminders as those dates approach.

What about invoicing? Will we pay Umbrella or Anodot?

No, no changes to the invoices other than the Umbrella logo.

4. Forward-Looking Questions

Will Umbrella and Anodot still collaborate?

Yes, while each of these business units has a distinct focus, we will still share knowledge and best practices where it makes sense.
